Children’s Grief Awareness Week UK raises awareness of the distressing impact the death of a loved one has on a bereaved child or young person. It is an opportunity to share the services and support that is available for children and to let their voices be heard.
The theme for the week is #YoureNotAlone – SiMBA is very grateful to 19-year-old Melissa Grace Morris for sharing so powerfully about her brothers Theo and Jay. Melissa, now a student at Aberdeen University studying English literature with Language and Linguistics, was just 13 when Theo died and 14 when Jay died. Please do share this post.
Children’s Grief Awareness Week 2017 is an initiative launched by the Childhood Bereavement Network, the UK body for support groups in the grief and bereavement sector, and Grief Encounter, one of the UK’s leading bereavement charities.
