General entry into the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 3 October is now sold out. The only way to be a part of the world's biggest-ever marathon, wherever you are on the planet, is to secure a charity place and we have 5 places remaining for this

event!

On the 3rd of October #teamSiMBA will have a team of 11 taking part in the Virgin London Marathon. Alistair Douglas (pictured below) will be running the traditional Virgin Money London Marathon from Blackheath to The Mall in memory of his son Hope but we will also have 10 teammates running virtually together with him across the country in the Virtual Virgin London Marathon. The beauty of the Virtual London Marathon is that you can take part wherever you are in the whole wide world and as long as you start and finish between 00:00:00 and 23:59 (BST) on Sunday 3 October, you can break your virtual marathon down into as many sessions as you like by using the pause functionality on your device. Your official result will be based on your total elapsed time.

Zoe is a member of #teamSiMBA running the Virtual London Marathon, here she tells us why she wanted to run for us :
"As a Staff Nurse working on an Early Pregnancy Unit in my local hospital, I have been able to see first hand how well SiMBA has supported women going through early miscarriages. Whilst working on the unit, I have realised how much women and their partners need support and these services SiMBA offer. I would love to raise more awareness of the positive services you provide. Miscarriages are not spoken about enough which results in women feeling very isolated, so raising awareness about miscarriages and the support that is available is very important to me, as a Staff Nurse and individual. I am a very keen runner, and enjoy running in my spare time. I would love to take on this challenge for a great charity. "

We are sp grateful to all of our fundraisers so to thank everyone for taking part you will receive a FREE SiMBA RUNNING VEST before the event, and all finishers will receive their OFFICIAL FINISHERS MEDAL and T-SHIRT from the London Marathon after the event.
There is fee to sign up but we are asking for a minimum sponsorship of £250 (or a reduced sponsorship of £200 for health care professionals who support SIMBA).

To join Alistair, Zoe and everyone in #teamSiMBA email fundraising@simbacharity.org.uk. and we'll send you a charity link to complete from the London Marathon Festival.

We need YOU to help us to ensure that SiMBA is here to offer our vital services for many more years to come.

Did you know - The virtual Virgin Money London Marathon was held for the first time in 2020, when more than 37,000 runners, from all corners of the world, completed the race. The final finishing total of 37,966 means it has been awarded an official Guinness World Records title for the 'Most users to run a remote marathon in 24 hours'.
