SiMBA is delighted to be one of only 500 winners nationwide to receive £1,000 from Ecclesiastical's Movement for Good award. The specialist insurer who is giving £1million to charities this summer, asked members of the public to nominate causes close to their heart. 13,695 charities were nominated by 253,879 members of the public and SiMBA were delighted to be chosen as one of the winners.
MC Tulley, Chair Board of Trustees said: “We are so grateful to have received a Movement for Good award of £1,000! Thank you to everyone who nominated SiMBA and to Ecclesiastical for their kindness. This will enable us to support 100 families and honour their babies”.
The £1,000 award will allow SiMBA to donate their smallest Memory Box to 100 families who experience an early pregnancy loss. SiMBA currently supplies 3 sizes of Memory Boxes each for a specific gestational loss, the smallest Memory Box specifically designed to honour a baby under 14 weeks. When parents receive a Memory Box we are treating their baby as an individual, honouring their memory and breaking the fear and taboo that can be associated with miscarriage.
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive at Ecclesiastical, said: “We would like to thank every single person who took the time to nominate a good cause as part of our Movement for Good awards. Ecclesiastical is a unique financial services group. We are owned by a charity which means all available profits can be given to the good causes that are so important to our customers. As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of our business. We know that £1,000 can make a huge difference to the incredible work that charities do and we’re looking forward to seeing how this financial boost will change lives for the better.”
