Inverness is our third Tree of Tranquillity which is the stunning centre-piece of the ‘Memory Garden’ area which was opened in July 2012 as the result of magnificent collaboration between Inverness Botanic Gardens and SiMBA. The tree itself is a stunning hand crafted life sized sculpture that is made out of recycled materials and has attracted considerable interest from the press, television and of course, from our many visitors.
The tree has been created in response to the needs of parents that have lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy or close to the time of birth. Leaves can be personally engraved and added and so the tree shall effectively ‘grow.’ The tree is not just for the recently bereaved but for those who sadly lost their baby years ago.
Please note that the gardens will close on Sunday 22nd of December and re-open again on Monday 6th January at 10am.
